Asst Dean of Student Affairs-CON (Finance)

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of five (5) years of demonstrated leadership experience in student affairs and/or higher education settings.
  • Proven ability to collaborate broadly to promote and support student success across colleges and departments.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategic planning, crisis management, conflict resolution, as well as a willingness to explore external partnerships that will enhance institutional efficiencies and the student experience.
  • Demonstrated history of promoting ethical behavior and social responsibility, and the capacity to lead, work, and communicate effectively with staff, students, faculty, alumni and other external agencies and institutions.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, including strong and effective interpersonal skills, abilities to relate to people, to manage resources, and to delegate responsibilities and apportion authority.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Doctoral degree from an accredited institution.
  • Greater than 5 years in demonstrated leadership experience in student affairs and/or higher education settings.
  • Demonstrated leadership in a health sciences college or department.

  • Serve as a member of the Dean's Executive Council.
  • In collaboration with college leaders, assist the dean in implementing the strategic vision and plan of the college.
  • Collaborate to ensure that student success initiatives map to the strategic goals of the college, USF Health, and the university.
  • Provide strategic vision to collaboratively develop, plan, and implement all student success initiatives.
  • Oversee recruitment, admissions and enrollment, advising, student records, career services, tutoring and academic coaching, and graduation.
  • Oversee student conduct, professionalism standards, and well-being programs.
  • Oversee maintenance and revision of the Student Handbooks.
  • Liaise with main student services on all USF campuses to ensure seamless integration of services for students in the college of nursing across all campuses.
  • Oversee student communication across all campuses and programs.
  • Responsible for enrollment and matriculation metrics for the college.
  • Collaborate with academic units on student completion metrics.
  • Collaborate on mapping the student experience and success to university's strategic plan and metrics.
  • Serves as the advisor for the National Student Nurses Association in the college.
  • Oversee all student organizations.
  • Actively participate in donor outreach/philanthropic initiatives with a student success focus.
  • Actively participate in professional activities on the local, state, and national levels specifically related to student success.
  • Serve on committees as assigned.
  • Oversee and ensure the responsible expenditure of fiscal resources including planning expenditure of fiscal resources, as well as procurement of goods and services in a manner consistent with all university policies and applicable local, state, and federal laws
  • Evaluate and write annual reviews for all direct reports.
  • Carry out assignments and special projects as delegated by the dean.
  • Serve as a role model in ethical decision-making, cultural sensitivity, responsible management, and courageous leadership for students through all actions and communications.
  • Strive to foster and maintain a workplace climate that is supportive of all employees and respectful of diversity as well as to create a learning environment for students that encourages personal development, self-reflection.
  • Communicate effectively across the college and externally.
